Art Center Director to manage all aspects of the Art Center to ensure successful operation of the programs including the analysis of course offerings, the creation of class schedules, the coordination of classes and instructors, enrollment management, and the maintenance of labs and materials.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Find, hire, train, and supervise instructors for 1,600 course credit hours per year with over 1,100 students taking courses through the Art Center at Miami University.
- Maintain the Art Center enrollment management and marketing.
- Maintain and organize class schedules and implement new programming based on needs of the Art Center.
- Create and manage two separate budgets between Art Center lab supplies and daily operations.
- Maintain facilities and equipment for the ceramics, glass, metals, photography, drawing, sewing and 3D printing labs in the Art Center.
- Hire and train lab monitors for 42 open lab hours per week.
- Facilitate and maintain positive relations and a positive learning experience for the students and instructors of the Art Center and CraftSummer.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in a relevant field with 3 years of tested experience.
Consideration may be given to candidates with knowledge in business/entrepreneurial skills (marketing, management, and/or arts business knowledge); excellent communication and collaboration skills; budget management skills; self-starter; ability to analyze enrollment and membership trends; knowledge to maintain equipment and condition of facilities.
