Reporting and Central Control Officer

Business Risk & Control (BRC)

About Business Risk & Control (BRC)

Business Risk & Control (BRC) is a First Line of Defense (1LoD) function responsible for implementing and sustaining the firm’s Non‑Financial Risk (NFR) framework. BRC provides oversight of operational and non‑financial risks across business lines and control functions, supporting consistent identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting, and management of risk.

Through a centralized 1LoD Control Officer model, BRC enables strong risk and control execution while reducing operational burden on business and functional areas by providing standardized governance, documentation, and reporting.

Role Summary

The Reporting and Central Control Officer is a member of a centralized first‑line control team within BRC. The role supports the 1LoD Target Operating Model (TOM) by providing centralized reporting, coordination, and governance across core risk and control programs.

The primary focus of this role is to deliver high‑quality risk and control reporting and management information while coordinating consistent execution of key control activities across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Risk & Control Reporting

  • Own the quality, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of 1LoD risk and control reporting deliverables.

  • Produce routine and ad hoc risk and control reporting, including dashboards, KPI/KRI reporting, risk profiles, governance materials, and committee packs.

  • Develop clear, actionable management information and report narratives that articulate key risk themes, emerging trends, root causes, control gaps, and remediation progress.

  • Maintain standardized reporting formats and definitions to ensure consistency across business lines and control functions.

  • Establish and manage reporting calendars and governance cadences to support escalation and decision‑making timelines.

Control Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and support consistent execution of core 1LoD risk and control programs, including:

    • Risk and Control Self‑Assessments (RCSAs), including planning support, execution coordination, documentation quality, challenge, and consolidation

    • Process mapping and control documentation, ensuring completeness and alignment to risks and controls

    • Risk metrics (KPIs/KRIs) design, monitoring, and reporting at business line and enterprise levels

    • Risk events documentation, analysis, and governance reporting

    • Self‑Identified Issues (SIIs) and issues management activities, including intake coordination, documentation quality, remediation tracking, and escalation

    • Risk acceptances, including documentation support, review readiness, and periodic review tracking

Governance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare materials for Risk & Control Committees, working groups, and other governance forums.

  • Partner with process owners, control owners, and Control Officers to drive timely, consistent, and high‑quality control deliverables.

  • Provide constructive challenge and guidance on reporting quality, risk themes, and control effectiveness.

  • Support transparency and escalation of issues, ensuring governance forums receive clear and decision‑useful information.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 5+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Risk & Controls, Internal Controls, or Internal Audit, preferably within a bank or financial services organization.

  • Strong understanding of operational risk management frameworks and core control programs, including RCSA, issues management, risk events, and risk reporting.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and deliver concise, actionable management insights.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Demonstrated ability to raise issues, escalate appropriately, and provide credible, constructive challenge.

  • Collaborative and professional relationship‑builder who can guide control and process owners toward practical risk and control improvements.

  • High standards of integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.

The expected base salary ranges from $97,000.00 - $160,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained.
