Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Dean, School of Nursing, the Director of Post-Licensure Nursing manages Montclair State University’s post-licensure BSN, MSN, and DNP degree programs. This position requires on-campus presence four (4) days/week. The Director of Post-Licensure Nursing monitors the current RN to BSN, RN to MSN Bridge, post-licensure MSN, and DNP degree programs. The Director holds a concurrent, tenure-track faculty appointment (rank commensurate with experience).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, management, and oversight for the post-licensure BSN, MSN, and DNP degree programs to assure quality and integrity of the academic program, curriculum, services, and operations.

  • Implement and administer the daily operation and policies for the post-licensure degree programs.

  • Oversee student recruitment in collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Graduate School.

  • Monitor and maximize student progression, retention, and graduation through the post-licensure programs.

  • Recruit, train, develop, manage, and lead nursing faculty as needed and directed by the Dean.

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing faculty teaching in the post-licensure degree programs.

  • Teach up to 12 credits annually in the Nursing program.

  • Develop graduate nursing programs in collaboration with faculty and consultants (if needed).

  • Work collaboratively with University Advancement on post-licensure nursing program marketing initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Management retains the right to change or add job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • A Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, Master of Science in nursing with family or psychiatric nurse practitioner certification.

  • Minimum of five years of academic leadership and/or 5 years teaching experience in a college/university setting.

  • Experience advising undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with instructional staff, academic and campus leaders, and corporate leaders.

  • Licensure as an RN and NP in New Jersey, or eligible

Salary Range

$155,000.00-$159,657.00 Annual
