Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking a full-time Fire & Safety Maintenance to join our team. Under the general direction of the Superintendent, Emergency Response, the Fire & Safety Maintenance is responsible for conducting and documenting emergency response and safety equipment inspections and maintenance throughout the refinery.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Perform and document monthly and annual equipment inspections.
Complete maintenance and documentation of refinery safety and emergency response equipment, annual sprinkler system, hose and pump testing, and fire extinguishing servicing.
Provide support to the Maintenance Department on fire system repairs.
Provide support for emergency response and safety related training.
Develop competency to drive, position, and set-up and operate Emergency Response vehicles.
Provide turnaround support as required.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or GED equivalent, required
Fire Maintenance background or equivalent, preferred.
Ansul Fire Extinguisher certification, preferred.
MSA and Scott SCBA certification, preferred.
Valid Driver's License
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Must be medically cleared and physically able to work in the required safety gear during an Emergency Response.
Work at elevation may be required.
Must have adequate mechanical abilities to maintain safety equipment as required by the job.
Must be able to write legibly and document work.
Highly organized and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules.
Computer literate and have the ability to use web-based systems
Must have a current California driver’s license
SCHEDULE: Technicians work a 10 hour shift, 4 days a week and must be available for overtime.
Pay and Benefits: Minimum starting rate is $35.11/hour. Marathon has highly competitive benefits including retirement and medical. These are represented positions within the refinery.
