We are seeking a talented **Lead / Senior Engineer** to join our engineering team. This is a key role responsible for delivering complex technical programmes, acting as the engineering focal point within multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Depending on experience, you will either lead a small team of engineers while maintaining strong technical involvement (Lead Engineer) or operate as a highly skilled specialist providing deep technical expertise (Senior Engineer).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical focal point for engineering programmes, including direct customer engagement
  • Lead and contribute to engineering design, analysis, and development activities
  • Plan, schedule, and deliver engineering work in line with cost, quality, and time constraints
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians
  • Review and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring robust engineering solutions
  • Oversee preparation of engineering documentation including drawings, reports, and specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and practices
  • Support new product development activities from concept through to introduction
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and commercial functions
  • Contribute to team development, including mentoring, performance management, and training (Lead level)
  • Support compliance with aerospace standards, certification, and regulatory requirements
  • Represent Moog professionally, balancing technical integrity with commercial considerations

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a senior or lead engineering role within aerospace or another highly regulated industry
  • Strong technical expertise in a relevant discipline such as mechanical, hydraulic systems, actuation, stress, or design
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex engineering programmes
  • Experience acting as a technical authority with customer-facing responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of new product development lifecycles, from concept to certification and production
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with experience resolving complex technical challenges
  • Knowledge of aerospace regulations, airworthiness requirements, and certification processes
  • Experience with engineering documentation, including technical reports, specifications, and drawings
  • Familiarity with MRB and Engineering Order processes (desirable)
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance business needs and engineering integrity
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing engineering processes
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
