Job Description Summary:


 

The Mechanic maintains, repairs, and monitors equipment operation and utility services to the Hospital complex.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspects and diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains equipment by replacing or repairing defective parts, adjusting functional parts, and lubricating equipment.
  • Tests equipment performance and ensures that it meets manufacturer specifications.
  • Records maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
  • Operates equipment to detect equipment malfunctions and to verify that repairs have been completed satisfactorily.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and tools.


Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.


Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


Skills:

Ability to learn and adjust the Building Automation system.


Experience:

Two years of related experience in one or more skilled crafts, required.
