This temporary position is located at 201 Tabernacle Road Black Mountain NC 28711 - Buncombe County with the Department of Health and Human Services- Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center.   

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $70.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Management Preferences:  

This is professional work providing psychiatric/mental health care involving patient assessments.

Practitioners have knowledge of psychopharmacology, the study of indications, actions, risks, and side effects of psychiatric drugs used independently and in combination with other drugs.

Job duties include but may not be limited to:

  • Ordering labs.
  • Making referrals to other medical providers.  
  • Prescribing psychiatric mediations.
  • Overseeing patients’ physical and mental health
  • Must be trained in psychiatric/mental health.
  • Work is performed in state facilities, public health programs, correctional units and other clinic settings.
  • Work is performed in collaboration with a psychiatrist.

Minimum Education and Experience

Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board.
