Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager with experience in HVAC, plumbing, and building controls systems to oversee multiple commercial and industrial mechanical projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have strong coordination and communication skills, practical field knowledge, and the ability to manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships from project kickoff through closeout.
This role is best suited for a mid-level professional who has successfully managed several projects at once and is looking to continue growing within a fast-paced mechanical contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple HVAC, plumbing, and controls projects concurrently
- Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and manpower planning
- Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals
- Track project progress and proactively resolve issues
- Attend project meetings and provide status updates to leadership and clients
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment
- Oversee change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and code requirements
- Support project closeout activities including punch lists, as-builts, and O&M manuals
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of project management experience in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical construction, or building controls
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems and construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and project tracking software
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management platforms
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BAS/BMS controls systems
- Knowledge of Sacramento-area commercial construction market
- Prior field experience in HVAC or plumbing trades
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
