Pace Industries is looking for an afternoon shift, entry level Maintenance Technician to support our Latrobe plant. As a Maintenance Technician, you are required to perform routine maintenance, rebuild and repair work on all equipment in the facility to support production needs.

With readily available technical guidance, keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to or learn to:

  • Repair/rebuild all parts of a Die Cast Machine, gear reduction units, and forklifts.
  • Repair and maintain all hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed.
  • Read electrical schematics and ladder logic.
  • Gauge voltage, check fuses, verify power.
  • Repair of water-cooling system and plant air system.
  • Repair gas fired and electrical furnaces and making sure they are properly maintained on a routine basis.
  • Preventative maintenance (How to setup, perform, lubrication, record keeping).
  • Utilize ERP system to complete work orders or disposition equipment.
  • Open PM and complete all tasks then signed off in ERP system.Β Β  If part is not available, have order part and schedule future repair.
  • Basic pneumatics/hydraulics and pipefitting/hydraulic hose.
  • Capable of assisting PLC hardware for Die Cast and other plant equipment.
  • Be able to arc and MIG weld as required.
  • Manage set of tools per recommended tool list supplies.
  • Certified Forklift Operator.
  • Certified in Lock/Out Tag/Out.
  • Must follow all safety rules and policies as set forth by OSHA guidelines and Pace Industries policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment as appropriate for the task that is being completed.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

High School Diploma or GED. Technical 2-year degree or a minimum of 1 year of verifiable industrial work preferred.
