A day in the life

As Director, Strategic Capital Reporting, you will lead accounting, financial reporting, and oversight for U.S.-formed strategic capital funds and joint ventures in which Prologis invests. The role supports industrial and data center property ventures, including new venture formation, ongoing partnership oversight, financial statement preparation, and internal and external reporting. You will partner with fund management, tax, legal, operations, investors, banks, and external auditors to deliver accurate reporting under U.S. GAAP and fair value reporting requirements. This role leads a small team and helps improve reporting processes across the global accounting organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the U.S. Strategic Capital Reporting team and ensure timely, accurate financial close, analysis, and reporting for assigned funds and ventures.
  • Oversee accounting and reporting activities for strategic funds and joint ventures, including new venture formation and ongoing partnership oversight for industrial and data center properties.
  • Review consolidated financial statements, Net Asset Value (NAV), fair value reporting, and quarterly external reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Partner with fund management, tax, legal, and operations on acquisitions, dispositions, development activity, and venture formation, including evaluation of related financial and accounting implications.
  • Manage, review, train, and develop a team of one direct report and one to two indirect reports.
  • Build effective working relationships with fund management, internal business partners, investors, and external auditors while handling sensitive financial information with discretion.
  • Collaborate with global accounting teams to automate, streamline, and improve reporting processes.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential or MBA.
  • Seven to nine years of public accounting experience or large multinational financial reporting experience.
  • Extensive experience applying U.S. GAAP to financial statement areas and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience leading reporting priorities and meeting monthly, quarterly, and external reporting deadlines.
  • Supervisory experience, including reviewing work and developing team members.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional business and finance stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Analytical, process improvement, organizational, and problem-solving skills demonstrated through financial reporting work.
  • Ability to use complex data to validate and enhance financial results.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience using general ledger systems and reporting tools.

Preferred:

  • Real estate fund experience.
  • Experience with fair value reporting and Net Asset Value (NAV) reporting.
  • Experience supporting funds, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships.
  • Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.

Hiring Salary Range of: $154,000 - $188,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI (Long Term Incentives) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
