Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Packaging of ice products for delivery
• Reading ice orders and accurately pulling these items from inventory
• Delivery of weekly drink ice orders
• Installation/removal of ice sculptures at special events.
• Build/Maintain outstanding customer relationships
• Perform pre/post trip inspections, comply with state/federal hours of service requirements, and operate the vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations
• Produce invoices for each delivery and complete all other required paperwork
• Responsible for the safe operation, working condition, and inventory of all driver “tools”, including:  handhelds, printers, handcarts, and hand trucks
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity
• Cooperate and promote a team concept with all other company employees
• Adhere to all rules and regulations, at all times
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

• This position has no supervisory responsibility

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of one year experience as a driver
• High School education or GED
• Three years previous route delivery driver experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
• Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance
• Ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one’s short term memory
• Ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment
• Ability to cope with sudden changes in surrounding and/or emergency situations and/or alarms
• Demonstrate a caring, committed and concerned attitude about safety

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must possess a clean driving record
• Must work in a safe and responsible manner to protect personnel and property

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Continuous exposure to cold (freezer environment), heat, and noise
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location
• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
• Heavy Work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees as well as function safely around construction equipment
