Job Summary:
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures is looking for affiliate faculty for teaching introductory courses of either French or Spanish. The term is Fall 2026 and it runs from 8/24/2026 to 12/13/2026.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
For traditional, in-person courses, the requirements are to meet in-person with the class three times a week when scheduled and hold 1 hour of office hours per week. Faculty will participate in designing their own course (in consultation with the chair of the department).
For post-traditional, remote courses, the requirements are to deliver recorded virtual lectures, actively engage with student posts on the discussion board, respond to student questions, and provide feedback and grade assignments. Faculty hold 1 ½ virtual office hours per week. A completed course shell and syllabus are provided.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in French/Spanish or related field.

Work Schedule: Courses are taught in person on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and course times are typically from 11 am to 1:45 pm.
This position will remain open until filled, with a priority application deadline of June 23rd, 2026.
These positions are benefits-eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
