Job Description
Commodity Manager
As a Commodity Manager within the Strategic Sourcing organization, you will create end-to-end commodity strategies for direct materials that impact performance across Rockwell Automation's Integrated Supply Chain (ISC). This is an experienced individual contributor with enterprise impact, reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager. You will work a hybrid schedule in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.

- Evolve commodity strategies end-to-end
- Influence and business-level decisions
- Increase measurable results across cost, risk, quality, and growth
- Operate with high autonomy, escalating only for strategic trade-offs
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop commodity strategies with care for business and ISC priorities
- Lead sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and contracting decisions
- Manage supplier performance and continuous improvement plans (quality, delivery, cost)
- Partner with PLM, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support NPI and lifecycle management
- Ensure compliance and adoption of sourcing strategies across your team
- Monitor market conditions, cost drivers, and supply risks
- Lead complex, multi-region sourcing strategies with enterprise-level impact
- Improve should-cost modeling, cost transparency, and long-term productivity projects
- Influence executive team members on trade-offs across cost, risk, and speed
- Develop supply risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing and capacity assurance
- Shape and improve the global supply base and lead strategic supplier partnerships
- Lead strategic supplier partnerships, including executive-level reviews and negotiations

The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Typically requires 8 years of related experience
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, and transactional purchasing processes
- Technical background (Engineering)
- Experience managing commodity strategies end-to-end
- Delivered quantifiable cost and performance outcomes
- Experience managing complex/global supplier networks
- Experience influencing senior team members and leaders
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
- Knowledge of electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical commodities
- Experience working in high-mix, low-volume industrial environments
- Experience working with global teams across multiple time zones
Additional Technical & Domain Expertise
- Knowledge of commodity procurement, and transactional operations
- Background in engineering or technical disciplines, ensuring better understanding of product specifications and supplier capabilities
- Hands-on experience with PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) and electronic components
- Exposure to factory products and manufacturing environments
- Experience working at brand or product-line level, managing specific categories or portfolios
- Align sourcing strategies with product and market requirements
