The Corporate Development Project Manager partners strategically with leadership to drive execution of short- and long-term goals, with a primary focus on advancing deal activity. This role owns the end-to-end deal execution process, requiring strong judgment, urgency, and the ability to lead complex, cross-functional work. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying risks, solving problems, and keeping transactions moving forward. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Partner strategically with Corporate Development and Operations leadership to execute on deal and business priorities 

  • Understand and navigate deal execution from initiation through close, integration, and post-close, ensuring timelines and milestones are met 

  • Lead cross-functional coordination across finance, legal, HR, and business teams to ensure alignment throughout the deal lifecycle 

  • Understand and navigate the end-to-end deal process, including timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and stakeholder communication 

  • Oversee diligence and data room management, ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely completion of materials 

  • Provide clear visibility into deal status, risks, and key decisions to senior leadership 

  • Proactively identify, assess, and resolve issues; escalate risks early with recommended solutions to avoid surprises 

  • Lead integration readiness planning and ensure smooth transition to integration teams 

  • Oversee post-close responsibilities, including the tracking and completion of closing deliverables, post-close obligations, and conditions subsequent 

  • Own the post-close financial mechanics end-to-end, including purchase price adjustments, working capital true-ups, escrow releases, and earnout milestones, partnering with finance and legal as needed 

  • Own transition service agreements (TSAs), including scoping, tracking, governance, and wind-down, ensuring obligations are met and services are exited on schedule 

  • Build and maintain post-close synergy models, quantifying cost and revenue synergies, tracking realization against targets, and reporting progress to leadership 

  • Monitor integration progress against plan after close, maintaining accountability for milestones, open items, and obligations through the post-close period 

  • Maintain a system of record for post-close commitments and reporting, ensuring obligations are documented, owned, and resolved on schedule 

  • Operate independently to identify process improvements and enhance efficiency across deal execution and post-close management 

  • Create and execute detailed project plans; adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements 

  • Provide hands-on support for time-sensitive, high-priority initiatives 

  • Ensure a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail across all deliverables 

  • Advocate for effective use of internal systems and tools supporting deal tracking, execution, and post-close monitoring

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree required 

  • 5–8+ years of experience in corporate development, transaction advisory, or professional services 

  • Proven experience leading deal execution or major workstreams within transactions 

  • Strong stakeholder management experience in a matrixed environment 

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment 

  • Experience managing diligence processes, data rooms, and complex deal workflows 

  • Experience tracking and managing post-close obligations and deliverables through to resolution 

  • Strong financial modeling skills, including experience building synergy, purchase price adjustment, or related deal models 

  • Hands-on experience owning post-close mechanics and/or transition service agreements (TSAs) 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment 

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) 

  •  Strong financial modeling skills, including experience building synergy, purchase price adjustment, or related deal models 

  • Hands-on experience owning post-close mechanics and/or transition service agreements (TSAs)  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in corporate development or deal services within a professional services firm 

  • Experience supporting post-merger integration planning and execution 

  • Experience owning post-close synergy realization and reporting 

  • Project management certification or formal project management training 

  •  Experience owning post-close synergy realization and reporting

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $120,000 - $205,200

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
