Cell Supplier Development Engineer
(Entry level—fundamental / Sr Eng.—additional) -- Suzhou
Position Duties:
Fundamental ----
- Cross-functional team member within Global Battery Technology, reporting to Cell Development Engineering in Suzhou
- Develop and maintain highly detailed cell manufacturing technical and quality audit tools for global cell suppliers
- Build long-term and growth cooperation and relationships with local suppliers
- Perform configuration management audits of global cell suppliers
- Perform cell testing on new and current cell models, and Quality Plan samples of new and current cell suppliers
- Perform prescreen testing plan on new and current cell models, and develop on cell products iteration with new and current cell suppliers
- Data analysis ability on testing raw data and distribution
- Perform process capability and control audits of global cell suppliers
- Perform FMEA, root cause analysis, tracking, and auditing corrective actions for technical and quality issues with global cell suppliers
Additional ----
- Failure analysis on testing NG cells from suppliers, Cell or related function teams
- Write cell report on testing procedures documentation and device SOPs
- Summarize on different cell models and the performances
- Solving technical problems on cell and pack level
- Manageable capability on Lab build-ups, growth, and maintenance, as well as solving problems
- Conduct verification testing (including REA) & calibrations
- Assist in solving technical problems related to cell performances or designs
- Manage the overall operation and maintenance of Cell Lab in Suzhou
- Lead cell engineers on daily lab assignments, reporting to Cell Eng. Lead
Requirements:
- Master’s degree of engineering background; With higher level of skills and experience, it can be adjusted to bachelor’s degree. Engineering background, chemical or electrochemical is preferred
- 4-years’ minimum experience in Li+ cell/battery research & development
- Familiar with lithium cell / batteries characterization methods, and using testing & abusive devices
- Working knowledge on safety of lithium battery, basic electrical knowledge. Knowledge of data acquisition test equipment software and hardware setup. Wiring and soldering skills. Good mechanical abilityÂ
- Good understanding of 5S, EHS requirements, environmental control, and lab devices maintenance.
- Strong skills in failure analysis and report writing. Familiar with FA tools such as 8D reports, 5W1H, etc.
- Knowledge of Microsoft for test data reporting and data analysis software such as Minitab, origin, Macro, etc.
- Quick learner. Good interpersonal skills: fast, communicative, responsive and responsible
- Technical language fluency in Chinese (
- Mandarin) and English
