Position Summary

  • The Neuro Service Line Director is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing all aspects of the Neuro Services division program. The position formulates partnerships across the system to deliver value-added services that reflect the objectives of the business unit. Leads strategic planning for service line growth and development.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical field or Healthcare Management required

  • Master’s degree in a clinical field or Healthcare Management preferred.

Experience and Skills

  • Technical Experience: 5 years

  • Supervisor Experience: 5 years in a leadership role required with progressive operational experience.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills working with employees, physicians, and customers; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proven ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.

  • Proven ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex, matrixed operations

  • Demonstrated track record in leading and delegating a team with accountability and successful achievement of superior patient care, operations, and financial results.

  • Demonstrated track record in growing market share in a highly competitive environment and ability to increase revenue through program development, business strategy, as well as effecting improved operations.

  • Demonstrated experience and desire to effectively work with physicians

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate operations, overall clinical practice, and administrative activities including operational and capital budget management and service line processes.

  • Collaborate with physicians/providers to ensure consistent and appropriate processes/protocols to meet clinical needs, compliance standards and patient expectations.

  • Monitor, measure, assess and improve department performance using patient satisfaction data, financial reports, RVU reports and EHR reports.

  • Maximize revenue potential and ensure service line profitability.

  • Identify internal and external ways to leverage core business strengths while frequently evaluating healthcare trends and opportunities for alignment of services.

  • Provide clear leadership by demonstrating understanding of business trends and needs. Identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.

  • Build employee engagement, and increase productivity and retention.

  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues.

  • Provide ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding staff accountable for success.

  • Identify and mentor future organizational leaders. Ensure appropriate resources are provided to staff.

  • Develop a staffing plan that meets both patient expectations and financial targets.

  • Effectively respond to patient complaints.

  • Maintain strong physician and significant stakeholder relationships and a high level of visibility for service lines.

  • Serve as a resource for the inter-disciplinary team to develop awareness of financial resources, utilization of services and evidence based best practice.

  • Effectively communicate program priorities, policies, and goals.

  • Establish and maintain communication between ancillary departments and physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professions regarding programs.

  • Identify internal and external ways to leverage core business strengths while frequently evaluating healthcare trends and opportunities for alignment of services. Partner with Marketing to design and develop service line advertising, literature and community events that are aligned with the overall SIH strategy.

  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes and organizational compliance

Compensation (Commensurate with experience):

$140,712.00 - $225,139.20
