Join our Global Operations Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team and play a critical role in launching new Sports Medicine products that make a real difference for patients around the world. What will you be doing?

  • Supporting new product introductions as the operations representative within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team
  • Developing and implementing capable manufacturing processes, including equipment specification, acquisition and installation
  • Partnering with cross functional teams locally and across global manufacturing sites to achieve project milestones
  • Supporting design for manufacturability and process development activities
  • Planning, executing and documenting validation activities, including data analysis and report writing
  • Coordinating and supporting new vendor tooling activities
  • Ensuring safety, quality, cost and timeline commitments are consistently met

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in new product development
  • Experience within the medical device industry is preferred
  • Exposure to plastic manufacturing methods is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently with guidance
  • Understanding of quality systems and basic operations documentation

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $78,000 - $117,000 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
