Minimum Requirements

  • Must self-declare as Indigenous Status / Non-status.

  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or Canadian Adult Educational Credential (CAEC) or 10+ years of work experience.

  • Have a valid full Class 5 Drivers License at time of application.

  • Must currently reside within the RMWB.

Process

Candidates who apply may be selected to attend a 4-week training program at Keyano College. Above all else, we are looking for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.Β  If you are invited for an interview please come prepared to discuss why a career in Heavy Equipment Operating is for you!

  • Tuition costs are covered, but candidates will not be paid while attending classroom training at Keyano

  • Upon successful completion of training, candidates may commence a paid, up to 6-month coop at Syncrude Mildred Lake or Syncrude Aurora Mine. Placements will beΒ determined by the business.Β 

  • Candidates with prior HEO experience will not be considered for this program.

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake or Aurora Mine in Fort McMurray.

  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts).

  • This is not a camp-based or fly in/fly out position.

  • This is a temporary position for up to 6 months.

  • For Ft Chipewyan, Conklin and Janvier, we would offer the Rotational Program (including accommodation & bus pass, if required) for the 6 months coop work term.

  • This is a safety sensitive position
