Network Engineer

Job Description:

The Network Engineer independently provides full design, configuration and support for common data networking implementations (HW and SW), including contact center and network security technology.

Assists senior technicians in design, configuration and support of backbone networks, security DMZs, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and other highly complex and critical solutions with regional and potentially global impact. 

Ensures appropriate failover solutions are implemented and tested to meet business continuity needs. 

Performs complex video networking for Board meetings and conferences. 

Provides global support to resolve network outages and help diagnose application problems.  May also provide Technical Guidance to Associate Network Engineers.

What You’ll Do:

• Designs, configures, and implements network solutions to support changes to teams, offices and applications, and to incorporate new features to optimize services.  Solution components may include departmental switches, enterprise switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, and other network technologies. (55%)

• Provides full operational support for regional network services which provide customer access to revenue-generating applications and colleague access to systems used to run the company and support customers, with limited assistance from more senior engineers in mission critical and/or highly complex situations. (30%)

• Creates and maintains technical documentation, asset inventories and configuration information. (10%)

• Analyzes vendor invoices for accuracy, maintains inventory and orders equipment. (5%)

What We’re Looking For:

• High school Diploma required.

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.

• Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.

• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Able to recognize and attend important details with accuracy and efficiency.

• Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.

• Possesses strong multi-cultural interpersonal skills.

• Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.

• Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.

• Able to maintain and promote social, ethical, and organizational standards in conducting internal and external business activities.

• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

• Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Able to build solid, effective working relationships with others.

• Able to exhibit ability to be sensitive to the needs, concerns, and feelings of others.

• Able to quickly learn new systems and technology.

• Able to use relevant computer system applications at an advanced level

Other Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with Network Engineering or Related Field of Study preferred.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise; CCNP Data Center desired.

• Microsoft Azure Associate desired.

• NetScaler/F5 (or other load balancer) desired.

• Certified Administrator desired.

• Solar Winds Certified Professional desired.

Working Conditions:

• Consistent non-standard work or overtime as business requires.

• On-call availability required as necessary.

• Professional environment.

• Some travel is preferred.
