About this role

Position Summary

The Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) is responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising evidence-based physical training programs to improve strength, power, speed, agility, endurance, and overall readiness of assigned personnel. The SCC works as part of a multidisciplinary performance team and ensures safe, effective, and mission-focused training. This position requires adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to conduct training in a variety of environments and weather conditions.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strength and conditioning programs for individuals and groups.
  2. Conduct physical assessments, movement screenings, and performance evaluations.
  3. Demonstrate and instruct proper exercise techniques for strength, power, conditioning, speed, and agility.
  4. Monitor training loads, track progress, and adjust programming based on assessments and readiness indicators.
  5. Collaborate with athletic trainers, physical therapists, nutrition specialists, and other performance staff.
  6. Maintain a safe and organized training environment and ensure proper equipment usage.
  7. Educate personnel on proper lifting mechanics, recovery strategies, and injury-prevention techniques.
  8. Maintain documentation, training records, and reports in accordance with program standards.
  9. Support training indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.
  10. Have the ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university.

 

Certifications

  1. NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
    OR
  2. CSCCa Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC)
  3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    OR
  4. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification.


Experience

  1. Minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years.

 

Additional Requirements

  1. U.S. Citizenship required.
  2. Must be capable of lifting up to 45 pounds.
  3. Must be able to conduct training in all types of weather conditions.
