Associate Bond Claims Litigation Representative

Tokio Marine HCC – Surety Group, a member of the Tokio Marine Group of Companies, has an opportunity for Associate Bond Claims Litigation Representative at our Santa Ana, CA branch office.

Job Summary

Under immediate supervision, handle claim matters in litigation for specified types of bonds. Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials when necessary with regular business travel required.
 

Key Responsibilities

Relying on limited experience and knowledge, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature.

•Monitor and respond to claim litigation for specified types of bonds in designated territories from initial receipt to resolution.

•Correspond and communicate with counsel, bond principals, claimants, and others regarding lawsuits, claims, and indemnity issues. Maintain professional demeanor and discretion with clients.

•Review legal documents, including legal pleadings, discovery, court notices and correspondence pertaining to the claim litigation.

•Prepare and draft moderate correspondence to affected parties using mail, fax, or other electronic means.

•Attend court hearings including mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.

•Maintain claim files - both physical and electronic.

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

• Minimum 4 Year / bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• 2 Years Relevant and progressive professional experience
• Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
• Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
• Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment
• Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)

For candidates working in person in Santa Ana, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is $28.46 to $42.72 per hour.  The salary offered for this specific position is based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the Company.
