About this role
As a Treasury Management & Cards Sales Officer, you will be focused on growing Treasury Management and Cards solutions. The Treasury Management & Card Sales Officer (TMCSO) will also be responsible for maintaining and cross-selling. This role is responsible for directly and/or indirectly selling and maintaining depository accounts, treasury management services and Commercial Card solution sets. The TMCSO partners with internal stakeholders to be the single point of accountability and/or advisor’s on prospects’ and clients’ deposit, treasury management, risk and other company payments needs. They focus on creating and delivering customized client centric solutions through a consultative approach.
The Commercial Card team is responsible for the growth and expanded usage of commercial card solutions as part of our client’s payment strategy. UMB offers a full suite of solutions with an emphasis on virtual payments. As an Account Executive, you will work directly with clients and prospects to develop a deep understanding of their payment needs and work with them to implement solutions to meet those needs. In addition to working with external clients, you will work closely with a diverse set of internal partners from Credit to the Commercial team as a subject expert on the production solutions and industry trends.
How you’ll spend your time:
- You will manage a portfolio of existing clients with focus on profitable, organic revenue growth and minimizing attrition.
- You will manage portfolio of new-to-bank clients with focus on revenue growth.
- You will know and understand business’s organization, expected activity; identify and communicate operational credit exposures and other risks.
- You will understand treasury management product risk and ensure UMB’s credit policies and other risks (e.g., reputational, legal) are adhered to and mitigated.
- You will establish appropriate expectations for onboarding including execution of documentation and ensure ramp of sold services.
- You will conduct independent and codependent sales calls on companies to generate new, high-quality and profitable Treasury Management and deposit business to achieve or exceed specific year over year growth goals.
- You will take a role in market by actively engaging in local industry associations, networking groups and /or community associations.
- You will identify working capital efficiency opportunities for a business and deepen relationships accordingly; ensure business awareness of market and industry trends; identify dissatisfiers and escalates appropriately.
- You will identify and refer ancillary business opportunities to appropriate partners.
- You will design customer-centric treasury management solutions, and provide consultative expertise on the liquidity management cycle.
- You will identify both internal and external prospects; Develop and maintain relationships with prospects to profitably expand business.
- You will provide thought leadership within and outside market through, but not limited to, hosting corporate events, attending and speaking at industry conferences, etc.
- You will engage with internal marketing in the design of sales collateral and company-sponsored marketing.

- You have 3+ years banking experience with 2+ years in selling or supporting commercial or treasury services.
- You demonstrate the ability to prospect, network & influence at various levels within a company and with clients – very self-motivated.
- You are knowledgeable in Treasury Management products and services, corporate cash flow process.
- You are knowledgeable of market/industry trends.
- You demonstrate excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- You have a knowledge of credit and operational risk.
- You have knowledge of Commercial Payments & Cards.
- You have knowledge of TM & card-based applications.
Bonus points if:
- You possess a Bachelor’s degree.
- You hold one of the following certifications: Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Certified Cash Management (CCM).
- You have a strategic sales planning ability to define target markets and strategic sales approaches.

$83,810 - $131,550US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin:
$76,520 - $120,210US Employees in all other states not listed above:
