About the Role

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will take a senior leadership role within the Berlin office, acting as a technical authority across multiple projects and sectors.

You will be responsible for leading the electrical discipline on complex, multi-disciplinary building services projects from early concept through to construction and handover. This role requires strong technical leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage both project delivery and client relationships at a senior level.

You will also play a key role in shaping team capability, improving technical standards, and supporting strategic growth within the office.


What You Will Do

In this senior role, you will be trusted with significant responsibility and autonomy. You will:

  • Lead the electrical engineering discipline across multiple concurrent projects
  • Act as the technical authority for electrical building services design within the team
  • Oversee design delivery from concept through to detailed design, construction, and handover
  • Develop and approve electrical design strategies aligned with client requirements, regulations, and project objectives
  • Manage and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for technical and commercial matters
  • Provide technical governance and quality assurance across all electrical project outputs
  • Lead coordination with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and external stakeholders
  • Review and approve contractor submissions, technical designs, and installation methodologies
  • Oversee project budgets, resource planning, and commercial performance of electrical packages
  • Ensure compliance with relevant European, German, and international electrical standards
  • Drive value engineering, technical optimisation, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Lead site inspections, technical audits, and ensure design intent is maintained through construction
  • Mentor and develop senior and junior engineers, supporting capability growth across the team
  • Contribute to business development activities, bids, and technical proposals
  • Support strategic planning for the electrical discipline within the Berlin office


Your Experience

To be considered for this role, you should have:


Essential

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in electrical building services engineering within a consultancy environment
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary building projects in Germany
  • Strong track record in client-facing and project leadership roles in German
  • Experience managing design teams and mentoring engineers at multiple levels  according to German Standards and Building codes
  • Strong understanding of electrical building services systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, emergency systems, building automation, vertical transportation, etc.)
  • Ability to manage technical delivery, commercial performance, and project risk
  • Proficiency in key design tools including:
    • AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks
    • Nova AVA
    • Amtech, Simaris, MagiCAD or equivalent thermal modelling tools
    • DIALux
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills


Desirable

  • Masters Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar. Experience delivering projects across Data Centers, Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, or Hospitality sectors
  • Familiarity with European and German electrical standards and regulations
  • Experience contributing to business development or bid support
