Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners (WDIP)Ā is a real estate private equity firm that manages capital on behalf of endowments, foundations, pension plans, private funds, insurance companies, family offices, and high net worth individuals. WDIP invests debt and equity capital in value-added, opportunistic, distressed, and special situation transactions through a series of private funds, joint ventures, and separately managed accounts.Ā
The Impact You Will HaveāÆāÆĀ
The Associate will support the execution and management of real estate equity investments across the full investment lifecycle, including underwriting, due diligence, transaction execution, asset management, and disposition activities. This role works closely with investment professionals to evaluate opportunities, execute transactions, and manage portfolio investments. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and a demonstrated interest in real estateĀ investing.Ā
Primary ResponsibilitiesāÆĀ
Screen new investment opportunities and support pipeline managementĀ Ā
Support underwriting, due diligence, and execution of new investmentsĀ Ā
Build andĀ maintainĀ financial models, including cash flow projections, IRR analyses, and sensitivity scenariosĀ Ā
Conduct market research, including rental and sales comparable analysis and broader market trendsĀ Ā
Review due diligence materials and third-party reports, including appraisals, environmental reports, engineering reports, and market studiesĀ Ā
AssistĀ in preparing investment memoranda, presentations, and investment committee materialsĀ Ā
Participate in transaction structuring, negotiation, and closing activitiesĀ Ā
Monitor investment performanceĀ relativeĀ to underwriting assumptions and business plansĀ Ā
AssistĀ with quarterly valuations, performance reporting, and investor deliverablesĀ Ā
Perform budget-to-actual analysis and ongoing financial reviewsĀ Ā
Track asset-level performance andĀ identifyĀ risks and opportunitiesĀ Ā
Support execution of business plans, including leasing, financing, and disposition strategiesĀ Ā
Coordinate with sponsors, operating partners, and internal teamsĀ Ā
Participate in property site visits and ongoing asset-level diligenceĀ Ā
Maintain regular communication with sponsors throughout the investment lifecycleĀ Ā
Support relationship management with joint venture partners and investorsĀ Ā
Contribute to internal investment discussions and portfolio strategy initiativesĀ
Perform other duties as assignedāÆĀ
Attendance isĀ generally requiredĀ from 8:30 am ā 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with theĀ optionĀ to work remotely on Mondays and FridaysĀ Ā
Education and ExperienceāÆĀ
Bachelorās degreeĀ required; MBA or other graduate degree preferredĀ Ā
4+ years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, asset management, or a related fieldĀ Ā
Experience with real estate underwriting and financial analysisĀ requiredāÆĀ
Knowledge,Ā SkillsĀ and AbilitiesāÆĀ
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills, including cash flow modeling and IRR analysisĀ Ā
Ability to evaluate real estate investments from both financial and market perspectivesĀ Ā
Familiarity with real estate transactions and due diligence processesĀ Ā
Strong analytical skills and attention to detailĀ Ā
Effective written and verbal communication skillsĀ Ā
Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insightsĀ Ā
Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentĀ Ā
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skillsĀ Ā
Demonstrated interest in real estateĀ investingĀ

This position has an estimated base salary of 85k-95kĀ plus a discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicantās relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
