Housekeeper - Haida House

POSITION SUMMARY 

Haida Tourism is a Haida-owned company, owned and operated by Haida Enterprise Corporation (HaiCo). HaiCo is focused on building Haida owned enterprises that reflect Haida cultural values, investing in the training and mentorship of Haida Citizens, creating careers and improving the lives of Haida Citizens and the economy of Haida Gwaii. 

Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the housekeeper position will be responsible for the general cleaning at Haida House guest rooms and public spaces to ensure that guests receive the highest standard of cleanliness and service possible. The hours of work will include evening and weekends.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Follow regular cleaning schedules 

• Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures to established housekeeping procedures 
• Wash and sanitize room showers, toilets, mirrors, and sinks 
• Vacuum carpets and clean floors 
• Regularly replace and restock room amenities 
• Remove all used bed linens and replace with fresh linens 

• Regularly check if room lighting and appliances are working and report any issues to the Head Housekeeper 
• Stock and maintain cleanliness in Spa area
• Move furniture and setting up for events when required 
• Empty and clean garbage and wastebaskets 
• Comply with work safety practices and ensure health and safety procedures are followed 
• Other related duties as required 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

• Ability to work in fast paced environment 
• Organization skills  
• Positive attitude, able to take direction and work in a team environment 
• Knowledge of laundry operations 

• Knowledge of health and safety standards  
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, weekends, Evenings, and mornings

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

• Experience in housekeeping is considered an asset.
