Contract Manager II  (Government)

Woodward’s Industrial Segment is seeking a Contract Manager who is primarily responsible for managing government contracts throughout the full lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering agreements. Ideal candidates will have experience with FARs (esp. FAR Part 12), DFARs, commercial items assertions, Buy America Act certifications, COTS, and working as a prime contractor and/or subcontractor. This role will also support commercial contracting activities for supply and service agreements as well as NDAs and purchase agreements. Partners with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve contract issues, support compliance, and manage risks. Handles customer or regional contract ownership, including make whole requests and flow down requirements, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting efficient contract processes.

Estimated annual base pay: $94,000-$135,000

Key Responsibilities:


  • Customer/Region Management: Manages intermediate accounts or regions, owning the contract throughout the lifecycle.
  • Manage Contract Lifecycle: Oversees all phases of contract management from initiation and execution to renewal and termination, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Responsible for make whole request, flow down requirements.
  • Mitigate Contractual Risks: Identifies potential risks within contracts and develops strategies to minimize exposure, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partners with internal teams and external partners to facilitate effective contract negotiations and resolve any contractual issues.
  • Draft and Negotiate Contracts: Prepares, reviews, and negotiates contractual agreements to ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Excellent ability to convey complex and sensitive contract information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contract Drafting: Skilled in preparing clear and comprehensive contract documents with minimal guidance;  a variety of contract types. 
  • Process Optimization: Skilled in improving contract management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
  • Financial Analysis: Has a good understanding of the financial impacts of contract terms.
  • Documentation Management: Proficient in maintaining accurate and organized contract records and ensuring all documentation is up to date.
