About this role

Mountain G. Enterprises, Inc. (MGE) is seeking experienced IBEW Local Union 659 & 125 Certified Utility Foresters/Forest Technicians to support Pacificorp's Vegetation Management Program.  


Role & Responsibilities


A Certified Utility Forester (CUF) will provide support to crews and the utility foresters, assuring PacifiCorp’s vegetation management program complies with the PacifiCorp’s goals and objectives. Additional responsibilities include: making notifications for all line-clearance activities to affected landowners including private, federal, state, and local municipalities, compiling work assignments for crews and schedule work to accommodate customer's needs, distributing copies of customer-relations brochures while making contacts with customers, operating in conformance with PacifiCorp Vegetation Management Program Standard Operating Procedures.


    Qualifications & Requirements - Forest Technician I, II, III, IV & V

    Certified Utility Forest Technician I.Required to obtain ISA Arborist certification within six months.

     

    Certified Utility Forest Technician IL Minimum of two years arboricultural-related experience or a combination of education and practical arboriculture experience. ISA Arborist certification. Certified applicators license recommended.

     

    Certified Utility Forest Technician III.Minimum of three years arboricultural-related experience or a combination of education and practical arboriculture experience. ISA Arborist and Utility Specialist certifications. Certified applicators license required within six (6) months.

     

    Certified Utility Forest Technician IV. Minimum of three years arboricultural-related experience or a combination of education and practical arboriculture experience. ISA Arborist and Utility Specialist certifications, pesticide applicator license, and ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qual ification required within one (1) year.

     

    Certified Utility Forest Technician V. Minimum of seven (7) years arboricultural-related experience or a combination of education and practical arboricultu re experience or Journeyman Card. ISA Arborist and Utility Specialist certifications and pesticide applicator license. ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification required within one (1) year.

        Physical Demands 

        Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer or driving to job sites. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, climbing, bending, stooping, and crawling in confined or enclosed spaces.  Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons. 


        Work Environment 

        Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings.
