Appraiser IV – Certified General 

The County Assessor’s Office is seeking a professional Property Appraiser to determine market values for ad valorem tax purposes across all property types, including rural, residential, commercial, and industrial, without restriction on size. In this role, you will conduct field inspections to evaluate property construction, condition, and functional design, taking precise measurements and sketches to document your findings. You will be responsible for analyzing market data, processing parcel segregations, maintaining county sales files for sales ratio studies, and developing land value guideline books for commercial and industrial properties. Additionally, this position requires strong communication and analytical skills to review appraisal consistency for taxpayer equity, respond to property owner inquiries, and publicly support and defend county valuations during Board of Equalization hearings and appeals.


Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree paired with six years of progressively responsible experience in property appraisal or a closely related field; however, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Additionally, applicants must hold and maintain an active Certified General Appraiser License (Appraiser IV) by fulfilling all mandatory continuing education hours. A valid driver’s license is also required for this position.


This full-time position offers $42.97 an hour, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
