Job Description
WHAT DOES AN ASSOCIATE BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST DO?
The Associate Business Systems Analyst role is a flexible position designed to assist the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) and Product Manager in the development and management of our software products. This individual will play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our product backlog, ensuring requirements are current, and facilitating clear communication across development, QA, and project management teams. The role provides critical support by managing incoming UAT feedback, handling feature requests, and ensuring Azure DevOps (ADO) tasks are consistently up to date. This position offers a significant opportunity to learn and grow within the product management function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with team members to elicit business requirements from stakeholders in order to determine and define the Business Requirements and User Requirements, and support the BSA in writing and refining user stories.
- Assist in managing the product backlog, including the intake and organization of UAT feedback and new feature requests.
- Assist with user discovery workshops and UAT feedback sessions.
- Help maintain and update tasks, user stories, and bugs in Azure DevOps (ADO) to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Work with team members to triage and mitigate defects.
- Act as a communication link between implementation, development, and QA teams to ensure all parties are aligned on requirements and timelines, in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Identify and flag scope changes, actively calling out potential risks to the Product team.
- Assist the Product Manager with ad hoc tasks related to product planning, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment by communicating effectively and transparently.
- Uses critical and creative thinking to help evaluate and solve work-related issues.
- Focuses on results in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner.
Qualifications
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2-3 years of technology / product work experience.
- General understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with or interest in AI development concepts.
- Knowledge of the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Marketing industries.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the process of requirements gathering to support platform design.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of internal tools used by the team for requirements authoring, tracing, and presentation.
- Demonstrates an understanding of basic relational database architecture and an understanding of protocols for transferring data between systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
