THE ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking experienced Restaurant & Bar Managers to join our team at our various venues located by the Happo One resort in Hakuba Valley. As a Manager, you will take full ownership of one of our establishments, driving operational excellence while delivering memorable guest experiences. We're looking for dynamic leaders with strong communication abilities, genuine hospitality mindset, and proven experience managing food and beverage operations. This hands-on role combines strategic management with direct service support across dining, bar, and coffee programs.

Hotel La Neige — Hotel La Neige Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant at the heart of our 5-star luxury hotel, driven by a philosophy of cuisine that speaks quietly but meaningfully of its time and place. With Michelin-starred aspirations, our team crafts beautifully composed menus that blend classical French technique with the seasonal rhythms of Shinshu — celebrating locally sourced ingredients, regional specialties, and the natural gifts of the surrounding landscape. We are excited to be welcoming a decorated Culinary Director with extensive global Michelin-starred experience to lead and inspire our kitchen team.
MANAGER DUTIES
- Food and Beverage Operations: Oversee all aspects of food and beverage service, coordinate with kitchen staff, ensure timely preparation, and maintain high standards of presentation and quality. Assist with food service tasks and collaborate with the culinary team.
- Customer Service:
Ensure exceptional service by training and supervising staff, addressing customer inquiries and concerns, and promptly resolving issues. Engage with patrons to understand preferences and provide attentive service. - Beverage Program: Develop and maintain beverage menu with diverse alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Stay updated on industry trends, train staff on cocktail recipes and presentation, and ensure proper beverage handling and service.
- Coffee Program:
Manage coffee preparation and service, train staff on brewing methods, maintain quality and consistency, and keep up-to-date with flavor profiles and equipment maintenance. - Inventory Management: Track ordering and supplies for front-of-house operations, including alcohol, mixers, coffee supplies, and other essentials.
- Staff Management: Create schedules for front-of-house staff, delegate tasks, assign positions during service, and review timesheets for payroll approval.
- Financial Management: Handle cash transactions, maintain accurate registers, ensure compliance with procedures, monitor inventory levels, control costs, and implement profitability strategies.
- Sanitation and Safety: Maintain clean, hygienic environment, adhere to health and safety regulations, and regularly inspect equipment for cleanliness and functionality.
- Team Leadership: Train, motivate, and supervise staff while fostering a positive work environment and coordinating with other departments for seamless operations.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Previous experience as a restaurant manager is required
- Legal right to live and work in Japan (visa support is offered for the right candidates)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, evenings, mornings, weekends, and holidays, as per the requirements of the establishment
- Ability to handle a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (such as kegs or cases of beverages), and handle the physical demands of the job
- Strong work ethic and a team first mentality
- English and Japanese fluency
- Driving license and International Driving Permit

As managers, you will have the responsibility of creating staff rosters for your team, ensuring efficient scheduling and coverage. Additionally, you will work 40 hours during regular business hours to oversee operations and support your team.
