Business Development Lead — Brazil
About this role
About Fligoo
Fligoo is an AI company that helps enterprises solve complex business problems through custom AI services — from demand forecasting and customer retention to supply chain optimization and intelligent decision-making. We partner with major companies across industries in Brazil and Latin America (COOP, Porto Seguro, Suvinil, Red Bull, Ceratti, Luft, Atento, YPF, etc) delivering high-impact projects that combine deep business understanding with advanced data science and engineering.
We operate with a startup mentality: small teams, high autonomy, fast execution, and minimum bureaucracy.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Development Lead to run our commercial operation in Brazil. This is not a corporate sales job with a playbook and a support team behind you. This is a builder's role — you will own the commercial strategy, lead a small team, manage client relationships, and close deals. You will have full autonomy to shape how the Brazil operation grows.
You will step into an operation with active client projects, a qualified pipeline of opportunities at various stages, a network partner who opens doors, a customer success lead who ensures delivery excellence, and a team of data scientists and engineers who bring the technical depth. What we are looking for is the commercial leader who ties it all together — someone who understands what clients need, builds trust at the executive level, and turns conversations into contracts.
If you are looking for a role where you can build something meaningful with real ownership, this is it.
Location: Sao Paulo, Brazil
Contract type: Independent contractor (PJ)
Reports to: COO/CBO
Who you are
1. Business-first mindset.
You understand business problems before you talk about solutions. You can sit with a VP of Operations or a Marketing Director and speak their language — margins, efficiency, customer lifetime value, churn — and from there connect to what Fligoo can do. You don't need to be a data scientist; you need to know how to sell the value of what data science delivers.
2. Builder, not administrator.
You have built something before — opened a territory, grown a client base from a small start, launched a new business line with limited resources. You thrive in environments where the answer to "who handles that?" is "you do."
3. Closer with consultative depth.
You know how to run a complex sales cycle with multiple stakeholders, long timelines, and high-value contracts. You don't just maintain relationships — you convert them into signed deals.
4. Autonomous and accountable.
You operate independently, manage your own priorities, and don't wait for instructions. You report to a COO who gives you freedom and expects results.
5. Comfortable with ambiguity.
Startup pace means things change, priorities shift, and you need to figure things out as you go. That energizes you, not frustrates you.
