Opportunity Summary:

At Origami, occupational therapy is about more than treatment plans. It’s about helping clients reconnect with the routines, roles, and daily activities that matter most to them. We’re seeking a Part-Time or PRN Occupational Therapist who brings clinical skills, flexibility, and compassion to that work. In this role, you’ll provide occupational therapy services primarily at our Main campus in Mason, and may assist with temporary coverage needs at our other Lansing-based campuses at Origami Greenlawn in South Lansing, and Origami West in West Lansing.


This is a great opportunity for a therapist who enjoys variety, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and can adapt to the needs of different clients, teams, and treatment environments. As a part-time or PRN Occupational Therapist, you’ll develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs, evaluations, and physician orders. You’ll work closely with clients, families, caregivers, and members of the care team to support progress in a way that is practical, compassionate, and goal-driven.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide caseload coverage for OT services.
  • Model appropriate behavior conducive to a positive working and therapeutic environment.
  • Evaluate, document, and implement treatment plans for clients referred by physicians.
  • Record evaluations, daily progress notes, discharge reports, and service billings in a timely manner and in accordance with procedure to provide complete documentation for client charts as needed.
  • Cover treatment sessions by implementing the established plan of care and documenting treatment notes accordingly.
  • Proactively initiate and follow-through with tasks utilizing appropriate problem-solving techniques to facilitate communication flow and prompt resolutions.
  • Maintain caseload levels at a level deemed reasonable by the Clinical
    Supervisor.
  • Provide supervision of COTA services, as necessary, in compliance with state practice regulations and organizational policies.
  • Observe all rules of confidentiality as they pertain to program participants internally, and in working with outside individuals and/or agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor


Requirements:

  • A degree in occupational therapy and licensure in the state of Michigan
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami)

  • Neurological rehabilitation education/experience
  • Interest in treating children and adult populations



Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to palpate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop kneel or crawl. Accommodated alternatives are acceptable if they accomplish the necessary essential tasks. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to assist in transfers, gait, and mobility training.
