About this role
Established in August 2023 by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Development Investments (“ADI”) trust, formerly known as the Emerging Markets Impact Investment Fund, serves as a development finance mechanism to expand small and medium enterprises (“SMEs”) across South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific. As a fund of funds, ADI invests in new and emerging funds that prioritize SMEs engaged in innovation, employment creation, and delivery of essential goods/services, and demonstrate commitment to gender responsiveness and climate action.
ADI established a Technical Assistance (“TA”) Program to enhance the capacities of Funds and SMEs, enabling them to conduct business more effectively, mitigate risks, and improve financial returns and impact.
Managed by Sarona Asset Management ("Sarona"), ADI benefits from the expertise of a leading impact investment firm focused on emerging markets. With the growth of the ADI portfolio, we are looking for a TA Coordinator to support effective implementation and oversight of the SME Technical Assistance. The TA Coordinator will work closely with the TA Manager and will play a central role in coordinating, tracking, and documenting TA activities and results across portfolio companies or SMEs.
Detailed Description of Responsibilities:
TA Administration:
Assist in preparing annual TA work plan materials, maintain the database of TA Recipients and service providers (SME TA Tracker), organise TA Recipients and service providers documents (e.g., deliverables and invoices), and support contracting of TA projects.
Coordination and Communication Support:
Ensure smooth coordination between the Fund, SMEs, and service providers by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, tracking follow-up actions, and supporting communication flow to ensure timely implementation of TA activities. Provide logistical and documentation support in liaising with the Sarona team for compliance, finance, and communication requirements.
Compliance, Monitoring, and Reporting Support:
Maintain updated trackers for TA budgets, timelines, deliverables, and reporting cycle. Follow up with TA Recipient and service providers on reporting requirements, document submissions, and compliance with approved TA plans. Support the preparation of progress updates, financial summaries, case studies, lesson learned, and other documentation/reports needed for internal reviews and/or publication.
Results Measurement and Knowledge Management Assistance:
Coordinate the distribution and collection of satisfaction surveys and performance assessments, organize data needed for evaluating TA project results, and maintain a central repository of lessons learned, case studies, and evidence. Support knowledge-sharing activities by preparing event materials, collating inputs for presentations, and organizing documentation for stakeholders including DFAT, partners, service providers, and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience in project coordination, program operations, or administrative support within international development or impact investing or related sector.
- Proven experience managing complex, dynamic, and regularly updated databases, with proficiency in tools such as Salesforce, Excel, or PowerBI.
- Experience in providing business development services/ technical assistance for SMEs, procurement of services, and management of service providers and technical advisors.
- Familiarity with ESG, impact management, gender mainstreaming, and integration of environmental sustainability in TA project planning and interventions.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, international development, environmental science, or marketing. A master's degree is preferred.

Compensation and Employment Terms
- Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications, offering competitive compensation.
- Start date: May 2026.
- Term: The position will be offered as a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory results following a performance assessment.
