The Role

To support Cubic's business, the Cubic Technology Department has built a state-of-the-art platform and core network which supports our customers across the globe.

Due to large subscriber base growth, with associated requirements for increased capacity for all our services, as well as the introduction of leading-edge technologies, Cubic is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team to drive for optimal Technical Delivery.

In this role, the Technical Project Manager will focus on driving technical delivery excellence within the Technology department, supporting cross-department process improvement initiatives, participating as a change agent, measuring the impact of change initiatives, and using data to guide decision-making. They will contribute to the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to track progress and demonstrate the value of change initiatives, using strong influencing skills.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced technical project manager to demonstrate their technical and organisational abilities, work with the deployment of cutting-edge IoT technologies in the automotive and agriculture connectivity spaces, and gain insight into all aspects of the Cubic business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Aligning with several domains to develop into a key point of contact for those areas

  • Developing an understanding of industry trends and introducing new ideas

  • Managing the interdependencies and flow of work across multiple teams

  • Supporting short & long-term initiatives across the company

  • Participating in driving lean principles and continuous improvement, using measurement and analysis to support decision-making

  • Identifying, mitigating, and communicating risks in projects & programs to senior leaders and customers, and supporting the resolution of delivery issues

  • Working with the Technical Delivery team to improve team delivery practices

  • Supporting cross-functional engagement within Cubic

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ technical project management experience, with 5+ years industry experience, preferably with an engineering background

  • Demonstrated experience in Lean and Agile Methodologies (Lean, Kanban, and other Agile frameworks to optimize workflow and minimize waste)

  • Solid understanding of software delivery

  • Proven ability to support incremental change and continuous improvement

  • Experience contributing to setting, measuring, and driving Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to align project outcomes with organizational goals

  • Ability to grasp complex technical issues and assist in decision-making

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate and guide teams

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and challenges

  • Experience using Jira or similar tools to track projects and document processes is advantageous

  • Understanding of connectivity and software platforms is a plus

  • Experience in knowledge sharing and working collaboratively with small teams

  • Excellent spoken and written English

New hires at Cubic³ are required to work onsite five days a week during their six-month probation period to get to know the company, their team, and our ways of working. After probation, we offer a flexible arrangement of up to eight work-from-home days per month, provided it aligns with business needs and performance standards. This arrangement is not a given for all roles.
