Mid-Level Assistant State's Attorney

Type of Law: Prosecution of State crimes occurring within the geographical jurisdiction of Charles County, Maryland.
Job Description: ASAs will appear in the District and Circuit Court for Charles County, Maryland and represent the State in criminal cases. Each attorney is responsible for litigating his/her assigned cases, to include advising police entities on investigations, reviewing and approving search and seizure warrants, providing discovery, summonsing and interviewing witnesses, obtaining physical and digital evidence for use at trial, preparing pleadings, litigating pre-trial motions, litigating jury/bench trials, litigating sentencing hearings, litigating hearings on post-conviction and reconsideration of sentence motions, and other duties as assigned.
Salary: Starting at $95,000. Starting salary dependent upon prior prosecutorial experience. Medical, dental and pension benefits included.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience. Must be admitted to the Maryland Bar.
