Band 3, $36.55 per hour plus 25% casual loading, plus 12% superannuation

Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC) is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Library Officers to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across one of Victoria's largest public library networks, working in a variety of library environments and supporting communities throughout the Greater Geelong region and neighbouring municipalities.

About the role

As a Library Officer, you'll create positive experiences for our customers by delivering excellent customer service and supporting welcoming community spaces. You'll assist customers to access information and technology, support library programs, maintain collections and promote library services across the GRLC network.

This role has no set work location. Successful applicants may be offered shifts at any library location across the GRLC network based on operational requirements. For a full list of library locations and services, click here.

Key activities include:

• Deliver exceptional customer service to a diverse community, ensuring every visitor feels valued.
• Assist customers to access information, technology, resources and library services.
• Support the delivery of engaging programs and activities for people of all ages. 
• Help keep our libraries welcoming, organised and inspiring by supporting collection maintenance, shelving materials and creating displays.
  
• Work collaboratively with different library teams across the GRLC network to deliver excellent customer experiences.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Confidence using technology and assisting customers with basic digital enquiries.
• An engaging and enthusiastic personality, with the confidence to interact with groups of children and adults through library programs, activities and events.
• A genuine passion for community engagement and helping create welcoming and engaging spaces.
• A positive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and library locations.

Availability requirements:

To be considered for the Casual Pool, applicants must be available for:

• A minimum of two full days per week
• One evening shift per week
• One Saturday morning per fortnight
