About this role

JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a highly qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order laboratory test, interpret test results, and provide patient education. Prepare medical records and refer patients for inpatient care in accordance with statues, regulations and protocols regulating the profession.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for providing inpatient care to patients showing a change in mental status, chronic or urgent medical condition.
  • Work independently with other member of the medical team, with entitlements to specific clinical privileges approve by the Medical Executive Board.
  • Perform patients’ histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend consultations and appointments.
  • Prescribe medications following the clinic’s policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the State.
  • Consult with physicians on cases that are beyond the scope of qualifications of PsycNP.
  • Offering counseling or psychotherapy.
  • Put all relevant patient data in medical records and case presentations.
  • Formulate, execute and review healthcare education delivered to patients and families for diseases prevention.
  • Ensure smooth communication with other health professionals for effective delivering of clinic service to patients.
  • Provide consultation to the clinic’s nursing and medical staff for improvement in their work performance, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic.


QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Must have Master’s in Nursing and Post Master’s program in Advanced Practice Role
  • Must have Psychiatric APN Certification
  • 2 years experience as Psychiatric APN

  • Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds. 
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility without elevator or mechanical transportation.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 


  • This is a full time position. Hours are scheduled to accommodate a 24/7 facility. Hours include holidays. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • This job operates in a inpatient facility environment.

  • This job operates in a kitchen environment.  This role routinely uses standard kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, knives, mixers, etc.
