Main Street Church is a healthy, growing church in the heart of Chilliwack with a clear vision to help people experience wholeness in Christ and live on mission. We care deeply about authentic faith, meaningful relationships, and forming disciples who follow Jesus in everyday life.

We are looking for a full-time Pastor of Discipleship Ministries to lead and strengthen adult discipleship at Main Street, with a primary focus on Life Groups. This role equips and empowers leaders, helps people take meaningful next steps, and builds a culture of relational discipleship across the church.

What you will do

• Lead and develop our Life Groups ministry by coaching and supporting leaders and raising new leaders
  
• Cast vision and build momentum for Life Groups as a primary pathway for spiritual growth and connection at Main Street
  
• Create weekly small group discussion guides that align with Sunday teaching and encourage Scripture-based conversation.
  
• Oversee a healthy, volunteer-driven pastoral care ministry that reflects Christ-centred compassion
  
• Develop and lead classes and training that equip people to serve, share the gospel, and disciple others
  
• Be present and engaged on Sundays and in the life of the church

Qualifications

• A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry
• Alignment with the mission, vision, and theological values of Main Street Church
• A Bachelor of Theology or equivalent formal theological degree (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 10 years of pastoral ministry experience, with demonstrated leadership in discipleship and/or adult ministry
• Experience leading and developing Life Groups or similar small group discipleship models
  
• Proven ability to recruit, train, coach, and support volunteer leaders
• Strong relational and pastoral skills with the ability to connect with people across all stages of faith
• Ability to cast vision and build momentum for discipleship pathways within a local church
• Effective communicator who can teach in group settings and create clear, engaging written resources
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to lead with wisdom, humility, and flexibility
• A collaborative leader who thrives in a staff-led, volunteer-powered church culture
• Willingness to be present, engaged, and invested in the life of the church and wider community
