About the job

 

To support our business growth, NOVE is looking to recruit a Consultant/Senior Consultant for our Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice, starting immediately. This position is Brussels-based.

If you are proactive, passionate about EU affairs and healthcare, and comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team, this position represents an excellent next step in your career. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in managing client accounts and delivering a mix of public affairs and strategic communication activities, with a strong focus on healthcare and life sciences policies.

The level of seniority (Consultant or Senior Consultant) will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.



Role and responsibilities

 

Under the guidance of directors/partners, your tasks will include:

 

  • Serving as the main point of contact for several Healthcare & Life sciences clients and demonstrating confidence built on prior experience;
  • Managing key accounts, including oversight of budgets and client deliverables;
  • Developing, with the support of directors/partners, strategic positions  for clients;
  • Proactively gathering intelligence, monitoring developments and analysing EU policies and legislation;
  • Ensuring that services and daily tasks are delivered to the requisite standard;
  • Depending on the seniority, supervising and providing guidance to junior colleagues, drawing on your previous line-management or mentoring experience;
  • Growing your network in the EU healthcare “ecosystem”, both within the EU institutions and the broader stakeholder landscape;
  • Attending external events and institutional meetings and reporting back with clear, actionable insights;
  • Researching and drafting background notes and analyses;
  • Proactively contributing to new business and marketing efforts.



Qualifications and skills

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a public affairs consultancy, EU institution, trade association, in-house public affairs team or other relevant professional environment;
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience working on EU health policies;
  • Extensive knowledge of the EU decision-making process and EU healthcare stakeholder environment. A solid institutional network in Brussels is a strong asset;
  • Proven ability to gather relevant intelligence efficiently and in a timely manner;
  • Strong research and analytical skills, as well as an ability to translate complex documents into concise, digestible formats;
  • Great time management skills and ability to efficiently multi-task;
  • Strong collaboration skills and a positive, can-do attitude;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Working knowledge of one or more European languages is a valued asset;
  • Masters’ degree in political sciences, economics, European affairs/studies or law;
  • Good knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software.
