About this role

Position Summary

Responsible for performing skilled welding and fabrication tasks to maintain, repair, and improve processing equipment and infrastructure. This role supports plant operations by ensuring equipment reliability and safety through timely maintenance and repair.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication on plant equipment including conveyors, crushers, screens, hoppers, and chutes.
  • Use stick, and oxy-acetylene welding techniques on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and assist in the repair or replacement of worn or damaged components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of plant systems and structures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other metalworking tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize and complete tasks.
  • Document work performed and materials used.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Experience in an industrial or aggregate plant environment preferred.
  • Proficient in various welding techniques and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with MSHA/OSHA safety standards (preferred valid MSHA training)

  • Regularly - required to sit or stand, reach, climb and move about the facility.
  • Work Environment - Work performed in a plant environment. Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside.
  • Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, hard hat and steel toe boots must be worn at all times. Hearing, respiratory and/or fall protection equipment must be worn when required.
