FAMILY VIOLENCE OUTREACH WORKER
Job purpose: The Community Outreach (Off-Reserve) worker is responsible for providing a broad range of support, education, and crisis intervention services to individuals affected by (or likely to be affected by) interpersonal violence with the goal of guiding clients to a path of self-sufficiency that includes transfer of knowledge, strength, healthy habits, tools for change, and the confidence to make informed choices.

- Robust communication, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Sound ethical judgment and ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with all federal and provincial requirements
- Proficiency in compiling data and developing statistical reports
- Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations
- Strong time and task management skills
- Awareness of, and sensitivity to, the unique circumstances and needs of the community
- Demonstrated experience working with disadvantaged adults who are experiencing homelessness, substance use, mental health, and/or barriers to independence
Job Assets and Specific Requirements:
- Completed post-secondary education, preferably in Social Work, Human Justice, or another relevant human services field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a human services field
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license
- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene
- Knowledgeable on resources within the community & methods of access
- Completed relevant training such as Safe Talk, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Sexual Assault First Responder, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
