Overview
CLEAN USA WATER & FIRE is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to help grow our referral network throughout the Chicagoland and western suburbs market.
This position is focused on building strong, long-term relationships with contractors, plumbing companies, HVAC companies, property managers, and other trade professionals who may come across water, fire, mold, or property damage situations while serving their own customers.
The goal of this role is simple: create trust, stay top of mind, and become the company contractors call when their customers need emergency restoration services.
This is not a high-pressure sales position. This is a relationship-building role. The right person will enjoy meeting people, making connections, following up consistently, and representing CLEAN USA WATER & FIRE in a professional and positive way.

Position Summary
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and growing referral relationships with contractors and trade partners in an assigned territory.
This person will regularly visit plumbing companies, HVAC companies, contractors, and other referral partners to educate them on our services, provide value, and encourage them to call CLEAN USA WATER & FIRE when they discover water damage, fire damage, mold issues, or other restoration needs at a customer’s home or business.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, consistent, professional, and comfortable starting conversations with new people.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with plumbers, HVAC companies, contractors, vendors, and other referral partners
- Visit contractor offices, shops, and job sites within the assigned territory
- Set up and attend breakfast meetings, lunch-and-learns, networking visits, and contractor events
- Educate referral partners on CLEAN USA WATER & FIRE services
- Stay in regular contact with referral partners through in-person visits, phone calls, emails, newsletters, and follow-ups
- Develop and maintain monthly marketing routes
- Identify new referral opportunities within the local market
- Follow up on new leads and referrals from field activity
- Track all visits, contacts, leads, and referral activity in the company CRM
- Help manage marketing campaigns, events, and local networking opportunities
- Represent the company professionally in all face-to-face interactions
- Meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly activity goals
- Work toward referral, job, and revenue targets
- Complete weekly business development reports
- Attend company training and industry-related education as required
- Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Background
Industry experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

- Plumbing, HVAC, roofing, restoration, insurance, or property management relationships

- Event marketing
- Networking or community outreach
- Route-based sales or territory management
Territory
This is a local field-based position covering the Chicagoland and western suburbs market area. The Business Development Representative will spend most of their time in the field meeting contractors, building relationships, and developing referral opportunities.
Training
Restoration industry knowledge is not required. CLEAN USA WATER & FIRE will provide training on our services, referral process, company standards, and industry basics.
Some travel may be required for training, estimated at approximately 6 days per year.
