Ambient Productions, Headquartered in Dayton, OH is currently seeking new talent for our growing business.
The position of an AV Install Tech requires previous hands-on installation experience with live AVL systems. Potential employees must have experience in AV system installation including but not limited to cable pulling and termination, safe rigging practices and techniques, production system designs, cable dressing, rack assembly, and site preparation. Candidates with great attitudes, communication skills, customer service and professionalism are required. We are a fast growing company that is looking for candidates who are looking for a long term position and desire to be in with us for the long haul.

Pay:
- $42,000 - 70,000 Dependent on experience
Experience:
- AV Installation: 4 years (Required)
Reports to:
- Head of Operations and Design
Required travel:
- 25% Required - (Please note at times this may be very dense at some points of the year and at other points be next to none)
Schedule:
- Varies job to job but we work hard at sticking to 80-90% of the time we work standard business hours of 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm
Job Duties
- Be a part of a team of installers, to properly install, program, commission, test, setup and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting and control equipment for our clients.
- Communicating with the team of the current status of projects regularly
- Assist in designs of future projects as needed (inducing line drawling, quote creation, electrical and wall plate schedules etc.)
- Ordering components from preferred suppliers component availability
- Prepping upcoming jobs in warehouse
- Assisting in live event productions performed by Ambient Productions (additional pay is allocated for these event when they are above and on top of a normal work week)
- All other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of professional AVL systems, terminology, and commonly used components
- Fundamental understanding of AVL signal flow and routing
- Basic understanding of Projection and Audio Basics and proper install techniques
- Basic understanding of required tools and proper use of them for specific tasks related to AVL
- Strong working knowledge of AVL Design
- Experience configuring basic networking related to AVL integration
- Understanding the correct cabling necessary for AV.
- Fundamental understanding of termination methods and procedures for all cabling connections related to AVL Installs (XLR, BNC, RJ45, Speakon, Powercon, True 1, Speaker and line level, etc.)
- Ability to solder communication terminations
- Basic understanding of the sales order process and parts needed to complete the scope of work
- Test and ensure functionality of equipment including basic understanding of test procedures and test equipment.
- Maintain a proper attitude and work ethic
- Excellent communication skills with leadership, coworkers, and clients. Customer service mindset at the forefront.
- Accept any mandatory industry Safety or manufacturer training.
- Experience operating company vehicles, articulating boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc. safely.
- Additional Certifications such as Osha 30, Q-sys, Extron, etc..
