POSITION SCOPE:
Reporting to the Child and Youth Services Manager, the Child and Youth Well-Being Worker will develop and implement effective, productive, and safe prevention programs based on identified needs for at risk children and youth in the community. The Child and Youth-Well Being Worker will support at risk children and youth by planning, implementing, and evaluating fun and exciting prevention programs in a collaborative effort to prevent involvement in Child Welfare.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Human Sciences, Health, Sociology, Psychology, Early Childhood Educator or related discipline
- CPIC (Vulnerable Sector) will be required upon employment offer
- Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides promotional material about the programs/services
- Develop and implement the development of programs and activities that includes the engagement of both parents and children in an effort to prevent familial breakdown
- Work collaboratively with departmental staff and service providers (internal and external) to provide comprehensive and coordinated services for children, youth, and families,
- Participate in annual workplan development with the Social Services Department
