Position Overview:

This dual role provides critical support to the LIV’s governance, compliance, and risk management functions.

The Assistant Company Secretary component provides support to the Company Secretary to ensure high‑quality board and committee support, governance processes, statutory compliance, and corporate record management.
The Manager, Risk component supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the LIV’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and reported effectively, and that the organisation maintains a strong risk culture aligned with strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Prepare and coordinate agendas, papers, minutes, and action registers for the Board and Board Committees.
    Ensure timely distribution of papers and maintain the annual Board/Committee work plans.
  • Monitor compliance with key regulatory obligations and internal policies.
  • Support internal audit activities, assurance reviews, and audit action tracking.
  • Preparation and lodgment of statutory filings, disclosures, and corporate record updates.
  • Support development and review of governance policies, charters, and organisational standards.
  • Support the implementation, embedding, and continuous improvement of the ERM framework across the organisation.
  • Prepare periodic risk reports for Executive, Board and Audit & Risk Committee meetings.
    Provide insights, analysis, and recommendations on emerging and strategic risks.
  • Maintain and update business continuity, crisis management, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Support privacy governance obligations, including data-breach response and compliance with privacy legislation.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in law, business, governance, risk, commerce or related field
  • Experience supporting boards and executive governance functions


Desirable

  • Governance Institute of Australia qualification (GIA Cert or AGIA)
  • Experience in regulated sectors
  • Experience leading organisation-wide risk frameworks
  • Project management or audit background
