We are seeking a Appliance Technician to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the Property Operating Maintenance function within our organisation. Role Overview:
Responsible for the mechanical electrical & plumbing maintenance, repair & or replacement of all commercial & residential equipment in guest or service areas. This is to include but not limited to washers, dryers, dishwashers, walk-in freezers, freezers, refrigerators, cold bars, ovens, ranges, deep fryers, grills, blowers, pumps and other types of appliances, in accordance with hotel standards. To assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned. Create an Exceptional Memorable Experience (EME) for each and every guest while interacting on a daily basis.
Main Key Responsibilities:
- Action daily work assignments from supervisor on duty.
- Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
- Assess & rectify problems with appliances & equipment as requested by supervisors & note any information needed or safety concerns in the hotel.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
- Complete scheduled work in accordance with preventive maintenance program.
- Perform mechanical, electrical & plumbing services for efficient operation of the property's appliances, equipment & systems.to include but not limited to washers, dryers, dishwashers, walk-in freezers, freezers, refrigerators, cold bars, ovens, ranges, deep fryers, grills, boilers, blowers, pumps and the like.
- Perform the Preventative Maintenance on appliances & equipment including but not limited to:
- Descaling & adjustment of probes.
- Sanitizing of rinsing and washing tanks.
- Removal of lint & cleaning of filters
- Protection of motors & lubrication of bearings
- Servicing of solenoid valves
- Calibration of thermostats.
- Cleaning of orifice and adjusting gas pressures.
- Detection & termination of gas & fluid leaks
- Securing electrics
- Prepare and complete any and all required logs, service requests, paperwork, etc.
- Maintain complete working knowledge of the latest techniques in laundry kitchen equipment & appliance installation, maintenance, replacement, or repair.
- Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas to include:
- Inventories
- Requisitions (receipt and storage)
- Trash removal
- Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces.
- Ensure security of any assigned keys.
- Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments and any follow-up actions with the Supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have working knowledge of laundry, refrigeration & kitchen equipment.
- Must have plumbing, electrical, and mechanical background.
- Must have working knowledge of:
- Health codes
- Plumbing codes
- Electrical codes
- Federal/local fire codes
- Local mechanical codes
- Water treatment programs
- Blue prints and wiring schematics
- Power and hand tools, meters, etc. as it relates to the technical trades
- Must be able to provide legible communication and directions.
- Must be able to compute basic math calculations.
- Must be able to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials, and products used throughout the property.
