We are seeking a Retail Store Manager to join our dynamic team. Role Overview:

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of The General Store, delivering a curated, high-end retail experience that reflects the lifestyle and standards of the property. This role goes beyond traditional retail management, requiring a strong eye for product curation, visual merchandising, and elevated guest engagement.


The successful candidate will bring a passion for premium and lifestyle products, with the ability to thoughtfully merchandise, style, and pair items to enhance the customer experience and drive sales. They will create a welcoming, refined retail environment for hotel guests, residents, and members, while ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and team performance.

Main Key Responsibilities:

    Retail Experience & Sales

    • Deliver an elevated and personalised shopping experience for guests and residents
    • Drive sales performance through strategic selling, upselling, and product positioning
    • Maintain a visually appealing and luxury-focused retail environment

    Visual Merchandising & Product Management

    • Execute creative merchandising displays, seasonal layouts, and product storytelling
    • Source and manage premium products aligned with guest preferences and brand standards
    • Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and replenishment strategies

    Operations & Financial Performance

    • Oversee daily retail operations, including opening/closing procedures and cash handling
    • Support revenue growth through effective budgeting, pricing, and sales target management
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and operational standards

    Team Leadership

    • Train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service and product knowledge
    • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development
    • Ensure compliance with company, health, and safety standards

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Support the overall success of the retail operation through other related duties as assigned



    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of experience in retail operations, preferably within luxury, boutique, lifestyle, or hospitality retail environments with at least 2 years in a supervisory role is preferred.
    • Experience managing inventory systems, stock control, and sales performance.
    • Strong visual merchandising skills with a keen eye for detail, presentation, and styling
    • Experience working with premium or high-end products (e.g. fashion, home goods, specialty foods, wellness, or lifestyle brands)
    • Ability to curate product assortments and create appealing product pairings
    • Proven ability to deliver elevated customer experiences and build rapport with a discerning clientele
    • Strong understanding of retail POS systems and inventory management software (Micros experience is an asset).
    • Proven ability to lead teams, drive sales, and deliver excellent customer service.
    • Understanding of all Microsoft Office, Micros Sales Systems, Check SCM and additional software as needed
    • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on work tasks.
    • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
    • Perform work tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Maintain accurate purchase and pricing records
    • A degree or diploma in Retail Management, Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is an asset
