Summary/Objective:

Promotes the company mission statement while being responsible for direct hands-on work of a crew(s) and/or Trade Partners to produce units of construction which are assigned on a project by a Superintendent or Project Manager. Ensure crew(s) always operate within Harper’s safety and quality standards. Plan and assign work; track and account for labor hours and productivity; supervise activities of a construction crew(s) and/or Trade Partners.


Essential Functions:

  • Ensure site work is completed safely within all OSHA standards.
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that quality standards and specifications are met.
  • Teach subordinates safety and quality standards in a proactive manner.
  • Immediately address any safety, quality and/or production issues observed or brought to your attention by anyone. Responsible for the safety of the crew.
  • Complete required safety documentation (i.e., PTPs, Toolbox talks and equipment inspections.)
  • Complete required quality documentation (i.e., pipe test, concrete leak test.)
  • Complete required personnel documentation (i.e., timecard entries.)
  • Read construction drawings, specifications, and submittal logs. Take measurements off drawings, figure and shoot grade/elevation for construction requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; Procore preferred.


Work Environment: 
This role may require walking over varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary from minimal loads to heavy; but help is always available with heavier loads.

 

Physical Demands: Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to operate equipment and motor vehicles, perform trades tasks, inspect the work of others, and review work for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness.

 

Travel Required: Travel to/from multiple jobsites, projects, and offices. Minimal overnight or weekend travel. Valid US driver’s license required.


Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related construction field required.
  • Three years of related experience required/preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
