About this role
The position of Accounts Clerk - Payment Collections will efficiently administer the collection and posting of clients payments within the Accounting Department of the company. The essential duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Insurance Book-keeping
- Process insureds cash receipts, cheques, credit card and debit card payments
- Balance daily cash receipt registers
- Prepare and reconcile night deposit slips
- Input reminders for future payments
- Follow up payments and other reminders
- Great Plains/TAM Book-keeping
- Preparing and Posting journal entries
- Insurance Accounting Document Retention
- Filing and scanning
- Print Monthly Bank Statements in Excel and PDF
Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by Accountant or Accounts Supervisor, as well as covering for other account clerks when needed.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Graduate; and two or more years related experience and/or training
Job Skills and Abilities
- Analytical and organizational skills are beneficial, as well as having a co-operative manner with work tasks and taking direction
- Attention to detail
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Communication skills are important, as well as keeping a team-oriented and results-driven approach, to facilitate productivity and continued improvement
- Ability to apply integrity and professionalism to work practices in keeping in line with Company standards and guidelines
- Proficient in function of MS Office and any other required Company programs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, while remaining sensitive and discrete with confidential information
