Cloud / Network Infrastructure Engineer (Winchester, VA)
About this role
The work:
• Administer, monitor, and maintain network and cloud infrastructure within AWS GovCloud, SC2S, and C2S enclaves
• Configure and manage VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, and network-related AWS services
• Implement and enforce security policies to meet IC, DoD, and organizational compliance requirements
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues, system outages, and performance degradation across multiple secure enclaves
• Manage user access, roles, permissions, and security groups in secure cloud environments
• Support onboarding of new systems, applications, and mission workloads
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to improve system reliability and scalability
• Maintain documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and operating procedures
• Participate in change management, incident response, and continuous improvement efforts
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams and stakeholders
Here's what you need:
• 8+ years of professional IT experience with a minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud, SC2S, and C2S secure enclaves
• Experience configuring secure cloud networking, virtualized environments, and hybrid architectures
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows Server administration
• Strong understanding of core network fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, firewalls
• Experience with monitoring and log management tools for network health and security
• Ability to create and maintain documentation, diagrams, and operational processes
• Bachelor’s degree
Bonus points:
• Experience working with Secret Cloud On-Premise (SCOP)
• Background supporting mission systems or workloads within Intelligence Community (IC) environments
• Familiarity with cross-domain solutions, enclave connectivity, and accreditation processes
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python, shell scripting)
• Understanding of Zero Trust architecture, segmentation, and security best practices
• Experience with STIGs, vulnerability management, and secure configuration baselines
• Preferred Certifications: AWS Professional or Specialty (DevOps, Security, Networking, etc.)
